    Malaysia Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Melbourne



    Malaysia Airlines official said that Flight 148 Malaysia Arlines departure from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur  has made an emergency landing at Melbourne on Friday, 12th June 2015 after reported engine fire. There is no incident or injury.

    After departing from Melbourne, the aircraft's system indicated there was an engine fire, so it returned and landed, the spokesman said. All operations at Melbourne Airport continue as normal. Emergency crews were called to the airport about 2:20pm, but no one on board required treatment. 

    Airservice Australia was told that an engine fire warning light had activated in the cockpit soon after take off but could not confirm whether was a malfunction or whether there had been a fire.  

    Plane tracking sites showed the Airbus 330 circling Melbourne airport several times before turning back. Fire engines were on site but airport official said it landed safely at 15.00 local time (05:00GMT), all passengers disembarked safely at Melbourne's Tullmarine airport, Malaysia airlines said in statement, 

    The Pilot called an emergency landing and as standard procedure when pilot calls any sort of emergency landing, emergency personnel are currently in site. 

    The jet had dumped fuel as standard procedure before an emergency landing, airport spokeswoman Anna Gillet said. 

    Malaysia Airlines has lost two airliners in disasters last year. Malaysia Airlines MH370 has been lost in the shouthern Indian Ocean and MH17 plan crash in Ukraine
